Your spine isn’t meant to be straight — but when the curves go too far, problems begin.
3 Common Spine Deformities Explained
Lordosis | Kyphosis | Scoliosis

Lordosis (Sway Back)
What it is: Exaggerated inward curve in the lower back.
Causes: Weak core, tight hip flexors, prolonged sitting, pregnancy.
Overcome it: Strengthen core & glutes, stretch hip flexors, improve posture awareness.

Kyphosis (Hunched Upper Back)
What it is: Excessive outward curve in the upper spine (“hunchback”). Causes: Poor posture, long hours on screens, osteoporosis, weak upper back.
Overcome it: Strengthen mid-back muscles, open the chest, move often.

Scoliosis (S-shaped Spine)
What it is: Sideways curve of the spine.
Causes: Structural (genetic) or functional (uneven muscle tension, leg length).
Overcome it: Early detection, Biokinetic assessment, targeted exercises, posture training.

“Your spine is your body’s foundation — take care of its curves before they take control.”
